Conductors Guild 2017 National Conference – Philadelphia

Join your conducting colleagues in fabulous Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love – home to our glorious Liberty Bell and Independence Hall – and so much more –  for an inspiring conference full of sessions, amazing musical experiences, and new information designed for Conductors Guild members and friends!

Feel free to print a copy of this year’s Conference Schedule.  A final copy will be included in your Conference packet when you arrive at Registration in the Kimmel Center Lobby on Wednesday morning.  Please contact the Conductors Guild office at guild@conductorsguild.org if you have any questions about this year’s schedule.

Location: Drexel University Performing Arts

There will not be one official hotel, so feel free to make your own arrangements, now.  A list of Conference Hotels MAY BE FOUND HERE.  Conference will begin on Wednesday morning at the Kimmel Center, and conclude on Saturday. We hope to see you there!

Shuttle services provided by Drexel University will be provided to and from the Kimmel Center and the Mandell Theater/Drexel Campus.  Transportation is also available via SEPTA Trolley and Bus.  Cabs may also be found on Chestnut Street.

The majority of our National Conference activities will take place in Mandell Theater (9A – bottom area on the map) – on the Drexel University Campus      3201 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Registration Instructions

Complete all sections of the Conference Registration Form.  Read the Photograph Release Agreement and indicate your agreement/disagreement in the box marked on the Registration form.  Pay your Conference Registration Fee in U.S. $$ only (drawn on US bank) by check, or money order (payable to Conductors Guild) and mail the Registration Form and your payment to the address listed below.  PLEASE NO CASH.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS can be made two ways:

Complete the Conference Registration Form, then CLICK HERE to pay using the Guild’s online payment Shopping Cart.   Be sure to select the correct Registration category for your Shopping Cart.  Also, you will still need to complete, scan, and email the Registration Form to:  guild@conductorsguild.org  OR mail a copy of your registration form to the address, below.

All Conference Registration cancellation requests must be received via snail mail, or email, by midnight, January 5, 2017.  A cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.  No refunds will be given on requests after this date. NO EXCEPTIONS.  Contact guild@conductorsguild.org for assistance.

All credit card information is subject to verification. Payment in full is expected at time of registration. While all guest speakers and events have been confirmed, the Conductors Guild reserves the right to make changes without prior notice. Please visit www.conductorsguild.org for more information.

Spouse/Partner Registration

We invite you to bring your spouse/partner with you to our conference to enjoy all that Philadelphia has to offer. The registration fee includes admission to all of our sessions and events.

Hotel Accommodations

Our host, Drexel University, has discount arrangements with the hotels listed online, and on the attached hotel sheet. Each hotel listed has 30 available rooms via the discount. You may need to call a different hotel than planned if all the discount rooms are taken in your chosen hotel. Please make your own arrangements directly with the hotel. The hotel charges are not part of your Guild National Conference registration. Visit our conference website www.conductorsguild.org for more information.

Optional Tours

We will be touring the facilities of the Kimmel Center, the Philadelphia Orchestra library, plus an optional trip to the Barnes Foundation.  All tours are free. We ask that you register in advance, via the Conference Registration Form, so we have an accurate estimate of attendance.   Also, visit http://www.visitphilly.com/ for other places to visit in Philadelphia!

The Philadelphia Orchestra Box Office has provided a Discounted Group Rate for Conductors Guild Conference Delegates.  You must make your own arrangements with the Phil Orch Box Office.  The Box Office is holding 50 discounted group tickets for Friday, January 13, and 50 discounted group tickets for Saturday, January 14.  Each Registered Delegate who plans to attend either the Friday, or Saturday performance, should use the links and instructions below to order their own tickets for either of these nights.

TO ORDER YOUR PHILADELPHIA ORCHESTRA CONCERT TICKETS:

  1. Click the link (above) of the concert You would like to attend.
  2. On the concert detail page selected, click “BUY TICKETS”.
  3. This will take You into the purchase path where You should enter promo-code GUILD into the promo-box on top right of the page.
  4. The promo-code will alter the pricing to the discounted rate.  Tickets in these sections are subject to availability.
  5. You should then follow along and complete the transaction through the purchase path. You will have to create an account in the process, if you do not have one already with the Philadelphia Orchestra.  If You prefer placing the order over the phone, You may call 215.893.1999, and provide the promo-code to the phone representative at Patron Services. Last minute purchases at the box office are allowed, but again, tickets are subject to availability and You must provide the promo-code for the discount.
