| The Guild has since 1979 published a journal (Journal of the Conductors Guild), edited on a serious and high scholarly level, that is concerned with numerous aspects of the art, history and practice of the conducting profession. Articles have covered matters of craft and technique, of repertoire, historical aspects of style and performance practice, analytical discussions of specific scores, studies of distinguished conductors and the nature of their contribution to the profession, etc. It has also had articles concerned with specific works, often detailing editorial matters within scores and parts including mistakes, omissions, alterations, traditional cuts and inserts, and the like. A reviews section discusses new books and articles concerned with conducting.
Podium Notes, the Guild newsletter which is published online, carries shorter articles of interest to the profession as well as notices of seminars, workshops and other study opportunities, and notes on significant career activities of conductors. The Conductor Opportunities Bulletin, published monthly, provides information on career opportunities including job vacancies, assistantships, competitions, workshops, and seminars from around the world. The Guild also offers an online, searchable Membership Directory whose names, addresses, phone, fax, and e-mail information cover a membership distributed throughout all 50 states and 35 countries, including conductors of major stature and international renown.
