Member Bio John Koshak is Conductor and Professor Emeritus, Chapman University, and Music Director and Conductor Emeritus and holder of the Ambassador and Mrs. George L. Argyros Music Director's Chair of the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra. His leadership of the OCYSO established the orchestra as one of the prominent youth orchestras in the United States and has brought national attention to the arts in Orange County. He recently completed his thirty-two year tenure at Chapman University where he served as Director of Orchestras and Instrumental Music. At the university Professor Koshak was responsible for building Chapman's nationally prominent orchestra program and one of the nation's leading undergraduate conductor training programs in orchestral conducting. To honor his achievements and contributions, Chapman University recognized John Koshak as Conductor and Professor Emeritus and established the John Koshak Visiting Professorship. The university also established the John Koshak Practice Studio in Oliphant Hall, the newest music building on the Chapman University campus. While conducting and teaching in Europe, Professor Koshak received recognition by the United States Government, which granted him the Superior Performance Award for his work in Germany. He and his orchestras have twice received the ASCAP Award from the American Symphony Orchestra League for the performance of American music. At Chapman University, Professor Koshak received the Faculty of the Year Award from the Chapman Alumni Association for his outstanding teaching and conducting. Arts Orange County recognized his music and arts leadership by giving him their prestigious Artistic Visionary Award for lifetime achievement in the arts. He is the author of the conducting book, The Conductor's Role: Preparation for Individual Study, Rehearsal and Performance that is now in its 5th edition. Professor Koshak received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Pennsylvania State University, his Master's degree from Columbia University, and his Conducting Diploma from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. He serves as Chair of the Mentoring Committee of the Conductors Guild.

Bruce Kotowich

Member Bio Bruce J. G. Kotowich is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choirs at the University of Windsor where he directs the University of Windsor Chamber Choir and University Singers. In addition to directing these choral ensembles, he teaches conducting. Dr. Kotowich is also the Chorus Master for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Windsor Classic Chorale. Dr. Kotowich completed his Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati where he also received his Master of Music degree. He received his Associateship of Music in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, and a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba. He is a recipient of numerous awards and honours including awards from the Canada Arts Council, and the Manitoba Arts Council. He has conducted the Manitoba Provincial Senior High Honour Choir, Manitoba Provincial Jazz Choir, the South Dakota North Region All-State Choir, the Illinois Music Educators’ Association District 8 Honor Choir and has conducted and judged numerous other festival and conference choirs. Dr. Kotowich has presented at the Iowa Choral Directors’ Association Summer Conference, the National Convention of the American Choral Directors’ Association (Dallas 2013 and Salt Lake City 2015), North Central ACDA Regional Conferences, and the NDSU Symposium: Music of the Americas. Dr. Kotowich is published in the Choral Research Memorandum Series through Chorus America, and is the editor of a choral music series for Alliance Publishing. He has toured throughout North America, Europe and China with his choirs.

Alexandra Kovatch

Member Bio Alexandra Kovatch currently serves as the Orchestra Director at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. She frequently guest conducts with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra. Previous positions also include Director of the Missouri State University Repertory Ensemble and Graduate Assistant Conductor of the Missouri State University Symphony. By attending symposiums and studying with various accomplished professionals, Alexandra strives to continually sharpen her conducting skills. She has studied with esteemed directors: Diane Wittry, Anna Edwards, Gary Lewis, Clif Evans, and Donald Schleicher. In 2019, she was a conducting fellow for the Allentown Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Diane Wittry. Involved in the digital conducting community, she has participated in webinars with JoAnn Faletta, Leonard Slatkin, Sarah Ioannides and Peter Fender. As a performer, Alexandra has played at the American Harp Society National Conference (2016), the Young Artists’ Harp Seminar, and the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra. Alexandra completed a Bachelor of Music from Washburn University in Harp Performance with Erin Wood. She then completed a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from Missouri State University with Dr. Christopher Kelts. She grew up in Bridgewater, CT where she studied harp with Wendy Kerner.

Bradley Krueger

Member Bio Bradley Krueger, a singer, pianist, trumpet player, and conductor, is an instructor in voice at Lake Michigan College and choir director at the First Presbyterian Church in South Bend, Indiana. He has taught in three academies and a college and university in the Seventh-day Adventist school system. Bradley was born and raised in Maine, the younger of two sons born to Myron and Doris Griffin Krueger. He began his musical studies with his mother, who was his first piano teacher, and would later take lessons in trumpet, voice, and organ. Following graduation from Pine Tree Academy in Maine, he enrolled at Atlantic Union College, where he was a scholarship student. He then transferred to and graduated from Union College. While at AUC Krueger frequently sang tenor and counter-tenor solos not only on campus but, as a member of the choir associated with the New England Youth Ensemble, in well known venues such as Avery Fischer Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York. On three of these occasions, he sang under John Rutter. Upon graduating from Union College, he participated in the Three Choirs Festival at Worcester Cathedral, England, and the International Church Music Festival, with Sir David Willcocks, at Coventry Cathedral, England. Voice teachers have included Ellen Chickering, Richard Conrad, Mark Evans, and Daniel Lynn. While attending an Aspen Music Festival, he studied art song repertoire with Paul Sperry and performed a set of Schumann lieder at Harris Concert Hall. In the summer of 2000 he studied choral Renaissance music under Peter Phillips of the Tallis Scholars, and took a cultural tour of Germany that included attending the Passionsspiele at Oberammergau and the Bachfest at Leipzig, and visiting the Pergamonmuseum in Berlin. During the 2000-20001 school year he served as interim voice instructor and choral assistant at Walla Walla College, now University. Krueger had previously taught at Pine Tree Academy in Maine, South Lancaster Academy in Massachusetts, and at Greater Boston Academy. After leaving WWC, he taught voice at Andrews University, where he completed an M.Mus. in choral conducting. Bradley and his brother, Brendan, have sung in male quartets since they were students at PTA. They continue as first and second tenors, respectively, singing most recently in the Voices of Zion quartet
